360? Pah
My NES has been broken for at least a year now, and if I want to play my Famicom Parodius I have to use one of those bootleg system-in-a-controller things. Now it seems that certain patents pertaining to the NES have expired and creatively-designed clones can be legally sold in the US. I've seen a few of them but I've been holding out for one that was compatible with actual NES controllers. Here's one that is, and plays Famicom carts as well! They even designed it to look like a tiny NES. Aww! I really don't need the wireless controller capability and I wish it were a bit cheaper, but whatever. It'll be nice to be able to play my NES carts again. Why buy one of these instead of a new NES? Old NES units are far too flakey, due to the complicated way the cartridge actually connects with the, um, innards. You can buy a new 72-pin whatever, but even so, there's still one or two extra unneccesary steps in the design of the NES that can render those oh-so-fickle cartridges unplayable. I'm looking forward to spending time with "Contra" without spending an equal amount of time nudging the cartridge around and looking for things to brace it with.
