"Look! SUDOKU!"

On the train back from Washington, a middle-aged woman sat down next to me and immediately pulled out a Nintendo DS and turned it sideways. I thought the train had accidentally gone too fast and blasted us into THE FUTURE, because Touhoku Daigaku Mirai Kagakugijutsu Kyoudoukenkyuu Center: Kahashima Ryuuta Kyouju no Nou o Kitaeru Otona DS Training isn't out in America yet! And hers was called Brain Age and in English! She seemed surprised that I knew what it was, let alone that it wasn't supposed to be out yet; she was traveling with somebody who worked at Nintendo in Redmond, a lucky bastard with a blue DS Lite. I don't know how Nintendo does it. They are releasing a game that (basically) involves a polygon-headed Japanese guy making you do math, and I can't wait to buy it. Anyway, here is a fun interview with some of the people involved in bringing the game to the US. It was a unique challenge, but I don't see how they can fail with their "put the word SUDOKU on the box in big letters" strategy.
