Brunching at E3
I don't know what's worse: the fact that this spoof is so dead-on, or the fact that I have actually played and enjoyed a game very much like the first satirical example.

Bay to Breakers, according to Google, is a 12K race through the streets of San Francisco, CA. According to the King of all Cosmos, it's a perfect opportunity for rolling.
"Hmm, the school talent show is coming up... what talents do I have? Well... I guess I've played Super Mario Bros. a lot." Man, he really has to work for that star. (Google video)
Now, this is funny and all, but even as a joke, you shouldn't include Uwe Ball's name in your credits. We don't want to be giving him any ideas. (YouTube video)
This isn't so much a "crafts project" as a "product for sale," but I still say it counts. I wonder why nobody pointed out that the colors weren't quite right but all the same, I MUST HAVE ONE.
I can't think of a game that I'm more excited about than LocoRoco for the PSP. (Maybe Mother 3, but that hasn't been confirmed for the US yet.) I've got the demo on my memory stick and I can't remember the last game that made me smile immediately when it began, and actually kept me literally smiling as I played it. I believe I may have actually laughed with glee. Basically, you play as a... planet, tilting yourself and causing earthquakes to spur on a rolling, singing blob, helping the blob to eat fruit and grow. You can split your big fat blob up into little blobs, and when you have a lot of them, they harmonize with the music and sing different parts. It's simple, it's 2D, it's happy, and it's pretty much the exact opposite of all the new games that are coming out that I can't make myself care about. (Here's an enlightening interview with the game's creator. More games should start life as subway doodles.)
Nintendo does a series of commercials in Japan featuring the "Hot Mario Bros." I really like this one for Mario Kart DS. I especially like the "American guy."
