Warning: Lots and lots and lots of pictures, stuffed stubbornly onto one page

Not far from E3 and nestled in a strange area right around the corner from Beverly Hills is the Acme Game Store, where people love games, take them seriously as art, and also shower and socialize regularly and stuff. Basically, it's a little like heaven. And kind of resembles it visually, too, at least provided that you're me. Coinciding with E3 was their game-themed art show, named i am 8-bit, without capital letters but with a whole lot of cool. I was running out of space on my camera's memory card, so it was very hard to decide what to photograph and what to just try to remember fondly, but here are the pictures I took while wishing I was a millionaire:

"How come it's never called 'Luigi Bros'..."

Cool stuff they had in the store:

Onimusha 3 Limited Edition "Soul Controller" - Functional, yet not.

Holy crap: Taiko no Tatsujin, 1up Megazine issue 3 (I BOUGHT THE LAST ONE HA HA), Steel Battallion controller, and a MAME cabinet that's so hardcore it has a separate 4-way joystick and trackball. If you know what any or all of these things are, let's be friends forever!

Resident Evil is called Biohazard in Japan, and here's the Biohazard: Outbreak Umbrella Sound Effect Stand for your Playstation 2, which I guess will light up its Umbrella logo when your game makes noise? I can't read Japanese, but I like to think the box is telling us that it will infect your game discs with the T-Virus.

You have no idea how hard it was for me to not buy this. We also almost walked out of the store with a $60 "Famicom Mini" edition Dr. Mario for GBA. Almost. Oh, and note the Japanese X-box game! CRAZY! PROBABLY SEXUALLY EXPLICIT!
